Get ready to dive into the fascinating history of stinging nettles! Learn how to transform this prickly plant into a beautiful and sustainable thread.

Historic textile artist Katie Sawyer will guide you through the history of the nettle plant, including food, fibre and mythology. She will then demonstrate the process of creating your own thread. You will also get to see Katie’s in progress artwork: a cordage nettle shirt inspired by the Wild Swans fairytale.
